Cassandra starts complaining... AGAIN

Aaaargghhhh I honestly feel like switching back to Wordpress because everytime I change my Blogger layout all the links disappear and I feel the urge to pull out tufts of my hair because the whole process of re-linking and putting up my Cbox is extremely tardy and sooo time-consuming! And fussily meticulous people like me can't just leave the layout be because it drives me nuts to see such an unprofessional layout (hint hint) and I never seem to be happy with all the Blogger layouts!

And besides, all the Wordpress layouts are uber-clean, refreshing and neat (and lemon-scented too! [inside joke])!

Well, I do have a Wordpress blog and it's been there for 2 years but I hardly ever bother to use it. Come to think of it, I'm seriously regretting using Blogger in the first place. Why do I have such ITCHY HANDS!!???

Anyway, this blog'll be EMPTY for quite some time... or if you noticed the sporadic intervals in which I update this blog, simply because I'm agitated!

Haiya see lah. I just broke one of my resolutions - don't complain. Ok. Better stop.

NS

Add Maths tution was sooo peaceful, until...

7 something.
(Amanda sends a message to Adeline)
Adeline: (hysteria) NS results are OUT!!! AHHHH!!

And sadly, my phone went out of battery, so I figured I'd wait till I get home to check.

8 something.
Desperation hit its peak. I was pretending to be all calm about it so I randomly (pretending mind you) asked Jenny to help me check.

9 something.
(message hasn't arrived) I got really really really nervous. Still didn't show it! I think God's testing my perseverance like He did when there was no electricity around my area during the afternoon.

10 something
(reaches home)
Sends about 3 messages, tried to enter the jammed up site, to no avail. Technically, traffic everywhere was congested, even on the road earlier on.

10.46pm
(Jenny forwards message)
RM 0.20 Maaf! 920----

MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! I wasn't chosen!

So I went to gloat on Facebook. Among the many reactions:

Josey: CELAKA YOU!
Adrian: @#$%!!!!

Anyway, PRAISE THE LORD!!

Happy Teacher's Day

Happy Teacher's Day!

Teacher’s Day was a blast! Honestly, it’s the best one I’ve had in years because all the performances were great, but it was extremely deafening when the crowd screamed. Lesson learnt: Bring ear plugs the next time.

After several days of hectic last-minute band practices, we survived! I like the Manhattan Skyline piece. Very much.
And people kept asking why was I sooo busy. Well, it was a secret and now you all know. Gurprit and I are backkk!!! And we have a group name you know.

Our signature pose

And also, the Form 5 band members played for the last time! You see, we’re very old now. We played Birdland because the agreement after several suggestions to play Young Ones, Can’t Take My Eyes Off You and Disney Spectacular was Birdland has more OOMPH compared to the rest. Yes, we're very very very cool.

Not to forget, we selected two of the school’s most ngegeh people to be the emcees. I suppose ngegeh-ness is a MUST to become an emcee.

I present to Dae the BI Ngegeh Award and Norma the BM Ngegeh Award.

I can recall just a few days ago I was on the phone with Dae for 11 minutes forcing her to be the emcee for Teacher’s Day under duress. She has potential what. We rose to a crescendo at the 4th minute.

Me: No buts Dae! You’re so becoming the emcee and that’s THAT!
Dae: Oh man. Why does this always happen to me? Why oh why?!
Me: Fine. If you regret becoming the emcee for Teacher’s Day, I’ll pay you 5 bucks. SERIOUS.
Dae: Seriously!?

Yeah, I was serious. But now, I don’t have to pay you anymore Dae! HAH!

What made my day was, the teachers said that me and Gurprit’s performance, or shall I say, The Greenies, was the best. Even Cikgu Junita said: Kamu dengan Gurprit memang ada bakat Ada speaking skills. WOW. Hahahah. Saya berasa amat bangga. And also, Joanna, thank you thank you thank you for helping us do the drumroll!

I remember, when Gurprit and I were planning the script (bear in mind that it’s a surprise), Lippy popped in on us unexpectedly. We freaked out.

Us: (deep in discussion)
Lippy: (pops in) Hello!
Us: (in unison) AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
Lippy: (taken aback)

But I think Lippy’s even more freaked out from us freaking out at her. I think, even the people at the school carpark could hear us.

Anyway, we concluded our day by taking pictures with almost everyone we know. Yeah, we’re very random. I shall post only a few. (grins sheepishly)

The few of the many monkeys behind Teachers Day being a success

Gurprit, Abigail, me and Ashley

The Happy Teacher's Day spirit

Not to forget, it was dear Abigail’s birthday on that day. You’re destined to be an educator Abby!

Our very happy but super old birthday girl

TEACHER’S DAY 2009 ROCKS

Update!

Alright I know what you're thinking... Online during EXAMS!?

Still suffering from Post-Photography-Sakai Syndrome

Anyway, a lot of things have happened lately, including... exams.
So let's see...

I guess I died during the Add Maths 2 paper, but thank God English 1 was after that! Now that's really silver lining.

Oh, and we had our annual Sport's Day!

Warming up

Our uniforms match!

The band had a total 'makeover' this year. Mr Marvin labelled the pieces and drumroll as 'old school' but we pulled it off despite all the last minute changes! Plus, the teachers also said that the Band was the best marching contingent of the day! :P

Band on the track

And then the ISCF gave out free drinks! And then, Sylvia won. AGAIN. Dot dot dot.

And I finally watched Marley and Me too!

I especially liked the part when Marley pulled John and Jenny's table because he was chasing a poodle. The ending was really sad though. I bawled.

And Celtic Woman have launched their Isle Of Hope Tour! Since February. I know it's too late to say this but still!

Anyway, I can't wait for Teacher's Day!

Earth Hour 2009

SMACK!
*mosquito falls lifelessly to the ground*

To say that I was not bitten by mosquitoes is an understatement, and so is not having a hole burnt on the top surface of my television due candles. Nevertheless, it's all worth the cause. :D

Around 8.15 pm, I sent a gentle reminder to my friends including some teachers... no wait, my whole phonebook!

And I spent the following hour star-gazing, with Winnie the Pooh as my precedent. There we go. A simple reminder which isn't as much as switching off the air-conditioners (which I did!) but enough to signal the whole world that global warming is serious.

IT IS SERIOUS. Which is needless to say, of course. LOVE YOUR PLANET. Which is also needless to say, of course.

VOTE EARTH

So, how was your Earth Hour? :D

The Cat Killing Spree

Yesterday, during lunch at Food and Tea, I met a couple of old friends and at some point of our conversation, the topic regarding how curiosity leads to misconceptions was brought up. So, I, the person who has nothing else better to do, including them, decided to conduct an experiment we dubbed "The Cat Killing Spree (Slightly plagiarised from the saying 'Curiosity Kills The Cat')".

Oh boy, we sure killed a lot of cats. It was darn hilarious- I even kept track of the time!

Well, for those of you who know me, I'm hardly ever emo, and even if I was I'd cool down fast and I also do not blurt my feelings out publicly - which is all needless to say everyone for who knows me!

So I took advantage of that impression I give to people. And so...

4.35 pm - Changes status message.

5.35 pm - Uncle Desmond comes online. (I think I actually gave him a really good wake up, considering the time difference between here and Canada)

"What's with the sad remark on MSN!? =O"
"Err... tell you later."

Anyway, after I told him...

"Gesh! Attention seeker!!!"

7 something pm - Two good friends of mine popped the question on IM. (You who you are, sorry guys!)

True enough, I was bombarded with text messages, Facebook messages and IMs from old friends, new friends, good friends and blah blah blah. Sheesh! Why on Earth does anything gossip related spread like wildfire!?

10.15 pm - I received a call from Barney. Oh boy, I really had to hold back my laugh throughout the whole conversation. I bet he thought I was crying during every pause. I laughed my face off when I disengaged the call.

The experiment ended at 11.30 pm last night. Our theories were proven correct, needless to say. ;)

P.S. My status message was true by the way. I was referring to my rabbit - having completely eaten up my pretty patch of three leaf clovers!
